SPEAKER BIO:

Ms. Curtis joined United Health Centers in 2002 as the Chief Financial Officer.  In December 2008, the UHC Board of Directors asked Ms. Curtis to assume the position of Chief Executive Officer. Colleen earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business with a concentration in Accounting from California State University, Fullerton.  She is the former CFO of Del Norte Clinics and Bear Valley Community Hospital.  Colleen brings over 37 years of finance experience to the leadership team. As CEO, Colleen has emerged as the organization’s technology champion and began rapidly building the IT infrastructure that has continuously introduced advanced technologies thereby increasing the organizational effectiveness and service delivery capacities.  She has implemented rapid growth and expansion plan to provide excellent access and care for the communities UHC serves.  As the President and CEO of United Health Centers of the San Joaquin Valley, Ms. Curtis currently leads a staff of over 1,000 employees in the operations of 28 health centers in Fresno, Kings, and Tulare Counties. As an essential workforce in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic and the ever-increasing medical needs in the Valley, she remained committed to ensuring that UHC cares for over 165,000 patients in visits that topped 900,000 in 2021. UHC has also developed an aggressive strategic expansion plan to reach a total of at least 34 health centers within the next couple of years.  Ms. Curtis has been the driving force to enact a cultural shift that emphasizes a true focus on patient-centered care and quality improvement efforts, which have resulted in years of continuous National Quality Awards, as well as, record high levels of patient and employee satisfaction scores.  Ms. Curtis was honored with the Fresno Better Business Bureaus’ 2020 Ethics in Leadership Award for reaffirming the organization’s core values and taking a lead position in the community efforts to overcome the ravages of the coronavirus pandemic. And in October 2021 Ms. Curtis was honored at the Marjaree Mason Center’s 36th  Annual Top Ten Professional Women Awards, a prestigious awards ceremony honoring local women professionals who have served as role models and given back to their communities, all while making strides in their professions.
