Work
Experience
Stan’s current position involves acquiring additional sources
of capital for the loan programs; acquiring new programs and services;
overseeing specialized loan programs with partnering community-based
organizations; implementing financial literacy training programs and
providing technical assistance to small businesses. This requires extensive
interaction with community-based organizations, governmental agencies,
economic/community development organizations, municipalities, and financial
institutions. Prior to this assignment, for three years, Stan managed
VSBDC.s direct loan programs – SBA Microloan, CEDLI, USDA IRP,
and USDA RBEG. Stan joined Valley Small Business Development Corp. in
January of 2000.
From
1996 - 1999, he was the lead business counselor for the Central California
Small Business Development Center, Fresno office, specializing in the
areas of business plan development, marketing, small business management,
and loan proposals. Previously, he worked as an export counselor in
the offices of the Fresno Export Center and the Merced Center for International
Trade Development.
From
1980 – 1994, Stan owned and operated a small business in a small
rural community in Fresno County. Fourteen years of self-employment
enables him to address the many issues that face the small business
community.
From
1972-1979, Stan worked for a number of agribusiness operations throughout
the state of California. Primary duties included general supervision
of employees, training and reviewing work performance, setting work
schedules, designing and implementing work procedures, and bookkeeping
and payroll.
