Cynthia Eayre

Past Executive Director of the Clovis Botanical Garden.

Dr. Eayre has a strong interest in the environment.  She has served on the boards of Coalition for Community Trails, Shinzen Garden and Tree Fresno.  Her work in agricultural research emphasized biological alternatives to chemical methods of disease control on fruit and vegetable crops. Cynthia's involvement with the Clovis Botanical Garden included seven years as a volunteer and 2 years as Executive Director.  The mission of the Garden is to educate the public about water saving landscapes and encourage water conservation. 

Cynthia is particularly interested in plants and the many ways in which humans use plants; for landscaping, shade, food, fiber, medicine, and lumber.  This strong interest in plants and the environment stems from early experiences in the woods, vacant lots and streams.  She can read a topo map and find her way out of the woods in the dark without freaking out, and she doesn't mind getting soil on her hands.
